Tooth-Colored Fillings
Do you have teeth filled with metal amalgams? Do your teeth look gray? Return your smile to health and a natural appearance with the help of Chapel Hill restorative dentist, Dr. Saib.
At Chapel Hill Advanced Dentistry, Dr. Saib never uses metal amalgams to fill teeth. Instead, he uses composite or tooth-colored fillings.
Why? Composite and tooth-colored fillings are far more attractive, safer, and stronger than metal ones.
Composite and tooth-colored fillings don’t require a lot of tooth preparation (i.e., drilling) because they are bonded to the teeth. As a result, much of your healthy tooth structure remains intact.
Metal requires that much of the tooth structure be removed before the metal filling is placed. Even more alarming, the metal filling reacts to temperature changes in your mouth, expanding when exposed to heat (coffee, tea, etc.) and contracting when cold (ice cream, a cold drink, etc.). This constant movement can cause the tooth to fracture or break. It also creates space between the filling and tooth wall, allowing dangerous bacteria to enter and cause undetected decay.
Tooth-colored and composite fillings are made of biocompatible materials safe for your body and the environment—they don’t contain any mercury! They not only restore the tooth to health, but they also return it to strength. But perhaps most importantly, they look completely natural and virtually disappear in your tooth. No one will know your teeth are restored; they’ll remain white, gleaming, and healthy!
If you have a mouth full of metal fillings, talk to Dr. Saib, your Chapel Hill restorative dentist, about replacing them with white fillings. You will be amazed at the difference in your smile’s appearance.
Bridges, Partials, & Dentures
If you have a missing tooth—or missing teeth—you know the impact on your appearance, comfort, confidence, ability to eat, and more.
With the many tooth replacement options available to you through your Chapel Hill restorative dentist, Dr. Saib, you don’t have to endure the embarrassment or discomfort of a missing tooth or teeth.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is ideal for replacing one or several consecutive missing teeth. A permanent appliance, a dental bridge, fills the space left by a missing tooth (or teeth). It is held in place by two crowns (abutments) placed on the healthy teeth adjacent to the space created by the missing teeth. In between the two crowns is a porcelain tooth (or teeth) that spans the empty area, replacing the missing tooth (or teeth), hence the term “bridge.” Once placed by your Chapel Hill restorative dentist, the bridge is permanent. No special treatment is required. You just brush and floss like you would your natural teeth. Dental bridges can last a very long time if taken care of properly.
Full and Partial Dentures
If you have missing teeth, dentures are an affordable solution. Not only do they enhance your appearance and restore your confidence, but they also improve your ability to chew and speak, and they support the facial muscles.
A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and adjacent tissues:
- A partial denture replaces several teeth
- Full dentures replace all the teeth
A partial denture also keeps the remaining healthy teeth from shifting positions in the mouth, helping to avoid TMJ and other bite-related pain and problems.
Dr. Saib will discuss your lifestyle, goals, expectations, and priorities at your denture consultation. As your Chapel Hill restorative dentist, we’re dedicated to helping you live a full life again!
Crown, Veneers, Onlays
Have you heard of same-day dentistry? Our patients love it!
The E4D Dental System is a computer-based technology revolutionizing our dental practice. If you’ve ever had a dental crown, a veneer, or an onlay to restore a tooth, you know it took multiple visits to mold, create, and implant your crown.
As your dedicated Chapel Hill restorative dentist, Dr. Bilal Saib offers the advantages of E4D technology, enabling him to create and place custom porcelain restorations in one convenient visit.
The E4D is a complete CAD/CAM system that takes an intraoral image of the prepared tooth. From this, a virtual model of the tooth is created. The design software assists Dr. Saib in designing a restoration that matches neighboring teeth in size, form, and color. Finally, a computer-driven milling device fabricates inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneers from a metal-free block of porcelain right in the office. Dr. Saib then places the permanent restoration, and you’re good to go.
One visit. A quality, custom-made, metal-free dental restoration. Total convenience. Dr. Saib is your committed and compassionate Chapel Hill restorative dentist.
